Important Dates

• March 24: First day to request an absentee ballot.

• May 13: First day of early voting and absentee ballots will begin being mailed out. 

  • Vote early in person at the Polk County Election Office (2309 Euclid Ave., Des Moines).

  • Hours will be Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

• May 18: Last day to request an absentee ballot;

  • All requests MUST be at the Election Office by 5 p.m.

• June 1: Last day for in-person early voting

• June 2: Election Day!

  • Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

  • All absentee ballots must be returned to the Election Office by 8 p.m.. You can surrender your ballot at your polling location.
